  • On October 14th, Don't Vote Conservative!!!

Show them that this behaviour is intolerable!

    (a)
Ignoring the best advice of the most prominent scientists about climate
change and pollution, what we can do about it, and what we should be
    doing about it.

    (b) Heckling
attempts by the other parties to deal with those vital environmental
issues and to keep Canada on task to lead the charge towards tackling
this issue of utmost importance (and don't give me any of that "But
during the Liberals' tenure, we slid on our Kyoto targets" flack; at
least they had the guts to sign the damn thing and set ambitious goals even if they could not keep them - they at least were capable of being motivated by environmental concerns).  We used to be a world leader by example, and since the Conservatives took power we have slid back to being mere followers, and of the most anti-progressive of all nations.

    (c)
Furthermore, DISCOURAGING INDEPENDENT INQUIRY and INDIVIDUAL RATIONAL
CONSIDERATION of such issues by putting out ads that blatantly ignore
the issue of climate change and INSTEAD, SENSATIONALIZE the so-called
pocketbook expenses of tackling environmental concerns.  Encouraging
people to make fun of the "revenue neutrality" of other party's
platforms rather than to actually find out WHAT IT MEANS, and inciting
personal monetary GREED versus the necessary sacrifices to help the
world we all live in: this is what I mean by ENCOURAGING IGNORANCE.  If
you watch their ads closely, they are littered with sensationalist
logical fallacies couched in misleading RHETORIC including Appeal to Ridicule and personal ad Hominem
attacks on their political opponents used as support against views and
policies held by said opponents.  These tactics are sleazy attempts to
win favour among the public in the same spirit of that one insecure
jackass everybody knows who thinks poking fun is the way to popularity
rather than the principled and earnest public debate of important
issues.  We certainly do not want leaders who are all too comfortable with their own arrogance.  It seems that they are so content in their strategy that they have not even bothered to hint at when (or whether!) they will actually release their own election platform, happy to make vague promises and sit back taking pot shots at the other parties.

    (d)
In flooding the Canadian public on Television, Radio, and all media
with their DISTASTEFUL AMERICAN-STYLE ATTACK ADS ENCOURAGING IGNORANCE,
    even before announcing the election,
they WASTE THE HARD-EARNED AND HARD-PAYED TAX DOLLARS OF ALL CANADIANS,
ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT EXPRESSLY DISAGREE WITH THE CONSERVATIVES'
PERSPECTIVE.  The Liberals never so blatantly wasted our money for
    propaganda
when in power; most of their ads were civil and rather
focused on ENCOURAGING people to consider issues they supported or
causes they motivated rather than to ignore and laugh at what they do
    not understand.

    (e) BREAKING THEIR OWN ELECTION PROMISES by
calling an early election when THEIR ORIGINAL ELECTION PLATFORM MADE SO
MUCH OF SETTING THE INTERVALS AT WHICH ELECTIONS WOULD OCCUR.  This,
after their platform ALSO MADE SO MUCH OF HOLDING THE PREVIOUS
GOVERNMENT TO THEIR ELECTION PROMISES.  It seems that the Conservatives' strength in their convictions extends only so far as the end of your election ballot.

    (f) Last but not least, using MORALLY REPREHENSIBLE POPULIST TACTICS TO VILIFY THE OTHER PARTIES THROUGH OUTRIGHT LIES REPEATED AD NAUSEUM in
television, radio, and print ads, and in interviews.  It seems I am not
the only person to have caught on to this as I recently came across an
entire article on this exact issue by Canadian Press contributor Bill
Cheadle, and backed by comments from representatives of all opposition
    parties:   http://news.sympatico.msn.ca/Election_08/....

So, VOTE GREEN, NDP, or LIBERAL just DO NOT VOTE CONSERVATIVE.
